Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), the country’s second largest bank by assets, has teamed up with Bosowa Corporation, the largest business conglomerate in the eastern part of Indonesia, to increase lending to the agriculture sector in South Sulawesi.
Head of BRI South Sulawesi branch, Adhy Kusnandar, said that the bank would provide loans to farmers in the province, while Bosowa would provide technical assistance to the farmers and act as an off-taker for the farmers’ produce. He added that Bosowa would also guarantee the credit facility.
Adhy expects that the cooperation with Bosowa would help increase the bank’s lending to the agriculture sector in the province. (rei)
