Jakarta-listed palm oil company PT Astra Agro Lestari expects 2012 CPO sales volume to increase by about 12.9 percent from last year’s 1.25 million tons as production rises, company Public Relations Manager Tofan Mahdi said.

He was quoted by Kontan on Friday as saying that efforts to increase yields would result in higher production. He added that favorable weather this year would also bode well for production.

Tofan said that the company also expects higher average selling price this year.  Astra Agro saw its average CPO selling price last year increased by 7.8 percent to Rp 7,576 per kg.

Astra Agro holds about 265,000 ha of oil palm concession spread in Aceh, Jambi, Riau, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. (rei)
