Rubber production growth in producing countries may slow next year as farmers reduce tapping following the current drop in prices, the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) said in a monthly bulleting published on Tuesday.

The combined production of ANRPC member countries, which accounts for 92 percent of global supply, may increase 3.6 percent to 10.39 million metric tons next year, said the association.

Production growth for this year is estimated at 5.6 percent, with total output of 10.02 million tons.

ANRPC also said that the lingering concerns over the state of the global economy would keep demand for rubber to be sluggish. (rei)
