Within the near future, there will be 11 new CPO mills to be built in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimatan, according to Halilintar, Head of the Agribusiness Unit of the local plantation office, on Friday.
He said that there are currently only two CPO mills in the regency operated by PT Rea Kaltim Plantation, and PT Tri Tunggal Sentra Buana, whose combined capacity is far from sufficient to process local oil palm production.
Currently, some of the local oil palm output has been transported to be process in mills in neighboring regencies, Halilintar said.
The 11 investors planning to build the new CPO mills include PT Jaya Mandiri Sukses in Muara Muntai, PT Kutai Agro Jaya in Kota Bangun, PT Mahakam Sawit Plantatiom in Sebulu and PT Sasana Yuda Bhakti in Tabang. The remainders will be set up in Muara Kaman among others by PT Sawit Kaltim Lestari, PT Prima Mitrajaya Mandiri, PT Anugerah Urea Sakti, PT Khaleda Agroprima Malindo, PT Bakacak Himba Bahari, PT Agro Eastborneo Kencana and PT Agrojaya Tirta Kencana.
