Agriculture Credit / Finance Specialist

ACDV VOCA currently has approximately 93 projects in 40 countries and revenues of $124 million.

 

We are currently seeking applicants for an Agriculture Credit / Finance Specialist for the current AMARTA II project. The AMARTA II project is a follow-on to the 4-year AMARTA project, and it aims to strengthen the value chains of three high-value commodities (coffee, cocoa and horticultural crops). This is a long-term opportunity and the position is immediately available.

 

Job Summary:

The Agriculture Credit/Finance Specialist will be responsible for the following:

1. Assist the senior agriculture credit specialist in implementing the agriculture credit component;

2. Provide TA to the selected beneficiaries, especially to those banks participating in the USAID/DCA loan guarantee programs.

 

The TA will include among other things:

1. Training bank staff in agricultural lending;

2. Reviewing and approving loan applications;

3. Credit serving;

4. Providing the banks with alternative ways of approaching the issue of collateral; and

5. Training farmers and agribusinesses (SMEs) in preparing bankable loan applications.

 

Assistance to the banks will be preceded by a rapid assessment of current practices and processes in lending to producers (especially smallholder farmers) and agribusiness SMEs and providing detailed analyses.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

B.A/B.S in Agricultural Economics or Finance or Banking with 7 years experience of working in agricultural finance/credit/microfinance or SME credit programs.

 

Experience:

• Demonstrated work experience in implementing agricultural credit programs in South East Asia and/or Indonesia;

• Training bank staff and stake holders in preparing loan applications and business plans;

• Thorough knowledge of working of agriculture credit programs in Indonesia experience of working with Coops and group credit is preferred.

 

Language skills:

Native level Bahasa language skills required. Candidates lacking native language abilities will not be considered. CVs should indicate the approximate level of language.
